How to prepare a room and indoor bike stand for online bike fitting

A clear, consistent recording starts with the room—not the record button.

01SPACE

Create enough distance for the full rider and bike

Choose a clear side of the bike and place the phone level and far enough away to keep you and both wheels in view. Do not solve a small room by switching to the widest lens, because it can stretch the edges of the picture.

  • Clear the floor around the indoor bike stand
  • Keep people and pets out of the recording area
  • Mark the phone and bike positions so you can record again from the same place
  • Leave room for a separate front view
02STABILITY

Keep the bike and phone from moving

Use an indoor stand that holds the bike while you pedal (often called a trainer) or rollers you can ride with control. Mount the phone on a steady tripod or stand instead of leaning it against something. A phone that shifts while you pedal can make an otherwise clear recording unusable.

03VISIBILITY

Make yourself easy to see

Use even light that separates you and the bike from the background. Wear snug riding clothing that does not hide your hips, knees, shoulders, elbows, or ankles. Clean the main phone lens and make sure the full setup stays visible through several pedal turns.

A better room setup improves the video. A flat phone video still cannot show depth, provide medical advice, or give every rider the same answer.
